Learning Framework
At Grand Slam School of Excellence, our learning framework is designed to nurture confident communicators, curious thinkers, and independent learners. We follow a structured yet flexible approach that blends foundational academic skills with exploration, creativity, and real-world understanding. Our framework supports holistic development by integrating language, logic, inquiry, and hands-on experiences into everyday learning.
LSRW – Listening, Speaking, Reading & Writing
Strong communication skills form the foundation of lifelong learning. Our curriculum follows the LSRW framework to help children develop language proficiency in a natural and progressive manner.
- Listening: Children develop attentive listening skills through stories, songs, instructions, conversations, and interactive activities.
- Speaking: Regular opportunities are provided for children to express ideas, ask questions, participate in discussions, and build confidence in verbal communication.
- Reading: Age-appropriate reading readiness activities, phonics, picture books, and storytelling nurture early literacy and comprehension skills.
- Writing: Pre-writing activities, fine motor skill development, and guided writing exercises help children progress smoothly towards independent writing.
The LSRW approach ensures that children communicate clearly, confidently, and effectively from an early age.
STEM for Early Learners
Our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) programme introduces young learners to logical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation through fun, activity-based learning.
STEM learning at Grand Slam focuses on:
- Developing curiosity about the world around them
- Encouraging observation, experimentation, and exploration
- Introducing basic scientific concepts through hands-on activities
- Building early mathematical and computational thinking skills
- Enhancing creativity through simple engineering and design challenges
By integrating STEM into early education, children develop critical thinking skills and a strong foundation for future academic learning.
Experiential & Inquiry-Based Learning
We strongly believe that children learn best by doing, exploring and questioning. Our experiential and inquiry-based learning approach places children at the center of the learning process.
- Learning through real-life experiences and activities
- Encouraging children to ask questions and seek answers
- Hands-on experiments, projects, and role-play
- Observation, reflection, and guided discovery
- Teachers acting as facilitators and mentors
Children are encouraged to explore ideas independently, learn from mistakes and develop confidence in problem-solving. This approach builds curiosity, resilience, creativity and a deep understanding of concepts rather than rote memorization.
